Be part of the largest humanitarian organisation in the world and make a difference to the lives of detainees placed in Australian immigration detention.
Join Red Cross and assist Humanitarian Observers to monitor and assess the conditions of detention and the treatment of detainees within the Australian immigration detention network.
In addition to the Humantitarian Observer role, research activities and administrative tasks may also be required. Initial training will be provided along with ongoing development opportunities also available.
This role is suited to people aged 18 years and over who have expertise in social sciences, social work, psychology, health, law and community development, an ability to display neutrality and discretion when working in a sensitive and political environment, an understanding of the refugee, asylum seeker and immigration detention sector as well as highly developed analytical, verbal and written communication skills.
