My team, my card – Lauren from Insurance
Hi, I’m Lauren from the Insurance team and I have supported the Port Adelaide Football Club now for 52 years. The Power – since it’s inception.
I was brought up to barrack for Port Adelaide as my father had an Uncle who played many years ago. In 2004, Bob Clayton allowed my father’s ashes to be put on Alberton Oval. So, obviously when Port Adelaide/Power came in, I supported them immediately.
To support a wonderful club with its rich history in this State has always been a joy for me. I love their sense of community, which they deliver through their Young Indigenous Program and also the multicultural work done first of all by David Rodan and now Alipate Carlile with youth.
One of my fondest memories is of my favourite player, Gavin Wanganeen, kicking the goal in the preliminary to get Port Adelaide in the Grand Final in 2004, the year my father passed away. I then went to the Grand Final in 2004 at the MCG with my husband and brother – it was one of the best days of my life.
This year I have bought 10 memberships for myself, my husband, son, and my grandchildren. Football is a big part of my family’s life and I’m glad to be able to support my club with a Power Visa Debit Card!
