Jamie’s Story – Women’s and Children’s Hospital
Some years ago, my daughter Lauren became very ill with an unknown condition and was admitted to intensive care at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital. Lauren was soon diagnosed with Glandular Fever at the age of 14.
While in hospital, we couldn’t leave Lauren alone without her childhood comforter, Barney the Dinosaur.
Lauren was eventually moved into the ward, but unfortunately during her travels poor Barney went missing.
The ever wonderful Women’s and Children’s Hospital team helped us look high and low for Barney, but he was nowhere to be seen.
Lauren received amazing treatment from the team at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital and after a few weeks returned home.
Several weeks later, I was informed that my mother with the help of some of the Women’s and Children’s Hospital nurses they managed to find Barney at central linen.
I’m proud to say that Lauren made a full recovery and now works for Beyond Bank. We are so happy to be working for a business that is now supporting an organisation that provided her much assistance during her childhood. On a side note, Barney is alright and safe at home.
