2015 Ganmain Show
Beyond Bank has been a proud supporter of the Ganmain Show for the past 15 years and this year staff from Wagga, Ganmain and Coolamon branches were there to volunteer their time at the 107th annual show.
This year Mother Nature provided perfect weather on the day which certainly helped with a record number of visitors through the gate.
Approximately 200 agricultural shows take place in rural New South Wales every year, these rural and regional community organised events play an essential role in shaping the identities of many small towns and continue to contribute financially, culturally and socially to our rural communities.
It is important that we acknowledge the contribution agricultural shows make to the local economy and to the social fabric of our rural communities.
The future of the ‘local show’ in regional NSW is uncertain and over the past few years we have seen a decline in the number of shows held in our small rural communities. Sadly we are also seeing the closure or amalgamation of many valuable local community organisations in these rural communities due to a decline in supporter’s numbers.
But this is certainly not the case in Ganmain, the continued success of the Show is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the Show committee and the hundreds of volunteers who come together each year to organise such a successful show. In a community of only 600 residents this is an amazing achievement.
Congratulations to everyone involved with this year’s Show, we look forward to seeing you again next year.
