Nigel and Ella

Thanks from Cure4CF Foundation

Ella Farrow was just 10 weeks old when she was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis (CF). For Nigel and Karen, Ella’s parents, the news changed their lives forever.

Nigel, a musician who had left school in Year 10, decided that he could not wait on the sidelines feeling helpless and hoping for a solution. Instead, he chose to enrol in a medical science degree so that he would be part of the cure for cystic fibrosis, a cure that would one day hopefully save Ella’s life.

It took seven years of relentless study, but Nigel has now completed his PhD and is working with the Adelaide Cystic Fibrosis Gene Therapy Research Group. This group, supported by Cure4CF Foundation, is amongst the world leaders in their unique pursuit of a cure for CF.

Nigel Farrow’s inspirational story is one that had to be told.

And now, as a result of the generous support of Beyond Bank Australia, and their creative partner Nation, Nigel’s remarkable determination to find a cure for cystic fibrosis has been shared right across the globe on television, radio, news websites and social media. Importantly, Cure4CF has received more than double the amount of donations than Beyond Bank’s original grant – and the donations continue to flow. People worldwide have been moved to take action themselves, making their own donations and pledging their support to Cure4CF Foundation to ensure this vital research can continue.

You can read more about Nigel’s story or watch his recent appearance on the Today Show.
