The Ganmain Public School P&C Triathlon on 7 February 2016 gives Riverina residents of all ages and abilities an opportunity to enjoy a fun morning out, challenge themselves and help give back to the local community.
“There is something for everyone,” Beyond Bank Regional Manager, Andrew Toole enthused. “At 8 am, children 8 and under can run, bike and swim on a closed to traffic course. For some, this will be their first ever triathlon. As a spectator there is real pleasure in seeing how much they enjoy themselves and the sense of achievement they get from doing this event.”
The second event of the day is the Junior race and Tri-a-triathlon.
“So many of us think a triathlon is something we could never do,” Mr Toole said. “The Tri-a-triathlon is perfect for anyone who has been thinking about trying a triathlon. This is an inclusive, fun event, designed to support beginners who want to try a tri. Who knows, it could be the start of a whole new sporting hobby or career for someone!”
The day concludes with the Open event – a 1 km run, 20 km cycle, 150 metre swim and a 5 km run.
“You’ll see some of the region’s best athletes fight it out at the front end of the field,” according to Mr Toole. “However, equally impressive are those athletes racing themselves to beat a previous best time or to prove to themselves that they can finish. All the entrants and finishers deserve our admiration and I congratulate them all.”
In addition to the personal triumph, entrants will be helping raise funds for the Ganmain Public School P&C.
Beyond Bank is a major sponsor of the Ganmain Triathlon.
