Opening of Buddy’s Garden at Guide Dogs SA
It was a wonderful night to be part of and to see an amazing transformation of the garden to when I last visited Guide Dogs SA.
The wider Puppy Garden, where Guide Dog puppies and dogs in training romp, play and are trained, has been renamed Buddy’s Garden in honour of Buddy, the current Guide Dog of Neil Cundy of Kadina.
The garden has been upgraded to include enrichment equipment, paving and an area with sand, grass and bark chips to train the puppies to toilet on different surfaces.
The Chief Executive of Guide Dogs SA, Kate Thiele, said the Memorial Wall and Buddy’s Garden upgrade was a result of kind donations from Claire and Neil.
“Guide Dogs is honoured that Claire and Neil provide so much to the organisation,” Kate said. “They are passionate and committed and we know it is from the heart.
“The garden is now a fantastic resource for our dogs’ development and enrichment.”
Kate also thanked Programmed Services, Strong Gardening, Evright, Bunnings, Beach Energy and SA Power Networks and volunteers for contributing to the construction of Buddy’s Garden.
Well done to everyone involved and Beyond Bank is delighted to be a partner and friend of Guide Dogs SA.
