Global entrepreneurs to land in Wagga Wagga
The Beyond Bank Regional Pitchfest officially launched on 5th May, announcing the panel of judges to award $10,000 in prizes for the regions best ideas. Trent Bagnall (Slingshot), Paul Brotherson (Millennia Group) and Jessica May (Enabled Employment) form part of the expert judging panel and bring with them a wealth of experience and connections when they come to Wagga and take the stage at the Civic Theatre on 29 June.
Local judge and well known entrepreneur Simone Eyles was on hand at the launch “I am Beyond excited for Regional Pitchfest! There are so many locals with great ideas, and Regional Pitchfest will not only unleash those ideas but support the entrepreneurs bringing their idea to life”.
Another judge from the Riverina, Liane Sayer-Roberts, started her own business Sauce Communications in Leeton and has built a multi-award-winning and leading national PR and events agency. Liane said the event was set to further cement the Riverina’s fast growing reputation as an innovation hub, while also shining a light on local talent. “There is incredible innovation and game-changing ideas coming out of rural and regional Australia. I can’t wait to see that talent on stage and exposed to potential new investors who can help take those ideas and make them viable businesses,” she said.
Wagga Market Place and Wagga Wagga City Council have come on board to support this new event for Wagga and hope people use this as a platform to take their ideas to commercialisation and grow business in Wagga.
Event organiser Dianna Somerville explained the event as a great win for the city ‘Having such talent available for our budding entrepreneurs to liaise with is an amazing opportunity’.
