Liftango – Newcastle entrepreneur grant recipient

Congratulations to the latest recipients of an Entrepreneur Grant in Newcastle – Kevin Orr and Trystan Eeles of Liftango, a ride-share app being trialed by the The University of Newcastle. We received the following note from Kevin and Trystan, thanking us for the $5,000 grant.

“Huge thanks to Beyond Bank for the incredible support they are showing us through the Entrepreneurs Program. It’s another indication of the Beyond Bank’s commitment to supporting the development of innovative businesses that create good outcomes for communities. This grant will give us the much needed platform we need to grow the Liftango business in both the Hunter region, Sydney and beyond.

Liftango founders Trystan & Kevin

Our goal at Liftango is to change the way we commute to work, helping people share the commute to reduce traffic and parking pressures. As with most tech disruption start-ups, Liftango was born out of solving a problem we were experiencing ourselves – carpooling with our partners to their place of work was adding an extra 30-45 minutes to our commute. We realised there were many other people travelling the same way, all that was missing was a free and easy-to-use mobile app to help find and match up with likeminded people to share the commute!

So Liftango was created to facilitate this process of matching drivers to riders who can share the commute. It’s free to download and super easy to use and we reward users with a guaranteed parking spot and fuel e-vouchers. We believe if you share your trip and help the environment you should be rewarded for it.

So ultimately, this grant from Beyond Bank will help to make a real difference to the traffic congestion, parking pressures and environmental problems that we see during our daily commute. Thanks again, from us and from everyone who’s ever got stuck in a traffic jam!”
