A good start to banking

A bus of 10 children and educators from the Goodstart Early Learning Centre visited our Gawler Branch on Thursday 9th March. The children were excited to get inside and learn about how a bank works.

Once the tour was over they were able to line up and make a deposit into their savings accounts at the main counter.

From there, the children moved back outside and learnt about the ATM machine and how money can be withdrawn.

Goodstart Centre Director, Janine Ludwig, saw this as a great opportunity to boost financial literacy with young children at pre-school age.

The centre has established a partnership with Beyond Bank to work collaboratively to deliver financial literacy within their Childcare Centre via visits to the Beyond Bank Branch in Gawler.

Gawler Branch Manager Glynn Poulis and Area Business Development Manager Anna Baric have been working together to organise the program and are planning future visits to focus on saving and how that will benefit them as they get older, setting goals so they can save for something special, the ATM machine, lending money and some other facts about what we do inside our bank building.
