Your local bank at Batemans Bay.

We know it’s been a tough year, but we’ve stood alongside you and we’re looking forward to a brighter 2021.

And despite the adversity, a real sense of community has been evident in Batemans Bay, perhaps more than ever before.

Our donations, grants and financial support provided help to customers that were impacted by bushfire. But on a personal note, our staff listened to your stories and shared theirs too. They helped manage your insurance claims and transfers to purchase new properties, assisted you to manage finances and get back on track and then celebrated with you when you settled into new homes.

Every one of our branch staff knew people who were affected by last summer’s fires. We rolled up our sleeves and got involved. Staff attended the bushfire recovery centre and local fundraising efforts.

Recently we’ve become a collection point for the South Coast Community Kitchen. Thanks to them, many people in our community will be enjoying a meal made with love this Christmas.

As part of the rebuilding process, we’re participating in the Batemans Bay Business Chamber’s Christmas tree competition.

Our tree can be viewed in the branch window. Decorated in purple, the staff have formed a star using local spotted gum bark, damaged by fire. This represents the many hands who helped the community during the bushfires.

We’re also excited to get on board the Light up the Bay lightshow and music celebrations, to help raise local spirits and welcome back tourists after the tough year. COVID-19 has made it difficult for community gatherings, so our support at the festival will help cover costs for COVID safety supplies so that our community can get together safely.

The event is another way for us to say thanks to emergency services and provide a turning point for residents. It is also a chance for our staff to experience the sentiment of the community; loss, uncertainty and resilience all rolled into one.

And to prove that the talent of our staff runs deep, Senior Relationship Manager, Michelle Scobie’s Country Pumpkins Band will take their place on the stage.

Batemans Bay has been home to our branch for many years. We’re local, here for the long run and committed to helping our customers and communities. We’ll be here to help with your banking over the Christmas/New Year festivities too.

Wishing you the happiest and safest Christmas and New Year.
