The National Aborigines and Islanders Day Observance Committee (NAIDOC) is holding NAIDOC Week celebrations across Australia on the 11th and 12th of July.
The week celebrates the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. NAIDOC is celebrated not only in Indigenous communities, but by Australians from all walks of life. The week is a great opportunity to participate in a range of activities and to support your local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community.
This year the NAIDOC are looking for physically strong and able people to help with setting up and taking down marquee’s and stall equipment in Bonython Park on Thursday 10 July 2014 from 2 – 5pm.
Volunteers must be aged 18 years and over and be physically fit and able as this role involves heavy lifting.
