Would you love to spend a few days on the coast? Join CVA and the Ardrossan Progress Association for the week, or if you are a local or a traveller passing through, join us for a day or two and help the environment!
Volunteers are required from Monday the 18th of August to Thursday the 21st of August 2014.
Conservation Volunteers (CVA) invites you to discover beautiful coastal habitat and support local community in its War Against Weeds! The coastal habitat is under threat from invasive weeds which push out the local indigenous plants and degrade the habitats of the local native wildlife.
Ardrossan is a small thriving town on the east coast of the Yorke Peninsula. Spectacular scenery from a cliff top lookout, an abundance of blue swimmer crabs and an interesting history make this a great spot and wildlife haven.
This is your chance to assist a small regional community group and help make a difference to the South Australia’s coast. You will be rewarded with meeting the locals, seeing spectacular coastal views and hopefully see some of the local wildlife.
The project accommodation is cabins that overlook the beach with transport provided by the agency.
No experience necessary as volunteers are provided with onsite instructions and are required to participate in a risk assessment run by CVA staff.
Volunteers are also required to cover their project cost is $120 for 4 days/3 nights (concession $90) and to provide their own long sleeved shirts, long pants, 2L water bottle, sturdy work or hiking boots and hat. For this overnight residential project please bring your own sleeping bag, pillow, towel, torch, toiletries, nightwear and any medication you may require.
