Port Adelaide Football Club to visit Eyre Peninsula communities thanks to Beyond Bank
The Port Adelaide Football Club, thanks to a partnership with Beyond Bank Australia, is taking its Empowering Youth program to the Eyre Peninsula.
Port Adelaide great Russell Ebert, along with other members of the Power Community team, Ross Wait, programs manager and Lisa Kennedy, program coordinator, along with Shane Farley, National Community Development & Sponsorship Manager from Beyond Bank Australia, will visit schools, clubs and community hubs to speak to students about how to manage themselves and their money.
The group will visit Port Lincoln, Whyalla and Port Augusta between November 11 and 13 and speak to hundreds of students.
Russell Ebert said he was pleased to be able to share the Empowering Youth program with students in the Port Adelaide heartland of Eyre Peninsula
“Through this partnership with Beyond Bank we are providing young people with financial skills and money saving habits that will set them up for the future. This is such a great part of our state and we’re going to visit as many people as we can,” Ebert said.
Beyond Bank Australia General Manager Community Development Peter Rutter said Beyond Bank was delighted to support the Empowering Youth program that backs up the company’s core business philosophy of building stronger communities.
“Our relationship with Power Community Limited is about finding ways, through partnerships, to have a positive influence in our communities and this program certainly supports our goal. A critical aspect of this partnership is our ability to add value to the Empowering Youth program through the inclusion of financial education, giving students an early understanding of the value of money and how to manage it. And we are delighted that the Empowering Youth program is receiving strong support from local schools and is delivering key educational outcomes for young people.
“The Empowering Youth program is provided free to schools, meaning that corporate support and fundraising is vital to ensure that the program continues to expand into the future,” Rutter said.
