Volunteers Needed

Mini Dog Collectors – Perth WA

Do you enjoy being outdoors, driving and meeting people? You may be able to help Guide Dogs WA!

The Mini Dog program is an important fundraising program at the Association as it raises more than $300,000 each year. With more than 1,600 Mini Dogs (coin collection boxes) all over WA, working hard in hotels, optometry clinics, convenience stores, newsagents, bakeries and supermarkets (to name but a few), the Mini Dog Program relies on the help of volunteers.

Mini Dog Collecting involves going out to businesses in the Perth Metro area, picking up full Mini Dogs and replacing them with empty ones. You will be provided with tea and coffee, an Association vehicle and all the tools required for the task and each run is about 20-30 mini dogs. This position also requires you to be on the look out for new Mini Dog location placements to grow the program.

Volunteers are provided with induction and supervision on first few journeys and ongoing support there after. The position is available one or two days on a weekly, fortnightly or monthly basis, Monday to Friday and usually in blocks of four hours or more a day. Volunteers may work alone or in pairs.

Volunteers must have a valid drivers licence for an automatic vehicle and it is also helpful to have good interpersonal and verbal communication skills and the ability to convey the Association’s message to groups and individuals. This role is suited to people aged 18 years and over.
