Head and Heart Advocates – Various ACT
By sharing professional skills you can make a difference to the lives of our students, helping students to discover their strengths and achieve their potential.
Our students have not previously undertaken further education outside of their secondary schooling and are now about to embark on completing a Cert III in Aged Care. We know this can be a daunting experience for some and we are looking for mentors to assist the students in achieving their end goals of completing their qualification and with the vision to gaining successful employment. Advice from someone like you can really make a difference to our students.
Better Linkages Mentors meet with students on a regular basis, discuss insights into the practical work environment, professional practice issues and provide career-based guidance.
A commitment of one year is required, with volunteers spending one hour a week, one on one with the student.
Suited to people aged 18 years and over, willing to complete the application and screening process and who have access to own car and a good driving record.
