Friendship Program Volunteers – ACT

Compeer is an award winning volunteer program sponsored by St Vincent de Paul Society and ACT Health. Compeer is based on the simple premise that ‘friendship is a powerful medicine’
Compeer Volunteers are matched with people living in the community with a mental illness, offering friendship and social support so people can participate in a range of activities.
Social activities include low cost activities such as going to a movie, going for walks or a chat over a coffee.
Volunteer and Compeer friends meet weekly or fortnightly for a minimum of 4 hours per month.
We are seeking to recruit female volunteers aged 55 – 65 years and male volunteers aged 18 – 70 years.
Suited to willing to apply or have a WWVP Card and able to commit to a minimum of 4 hours per month.
