Walk a mile

Hutt Street Centre’s Walk a Mile in my Boots

On the eve of my second Walk A Mile in My Boots event, it has dawned on me that over 6,000 individuals experience homelessness in South Australia… that is the equivalent of a regional town!

The Hutt Street Centre is looking to match this figure with the number of individuals participating in this year’s Walk A Mile Event.

Yes it may be cold, yes it may dark and yes it may be out of your normal routine, but I encourage you to get a small glimpse of what life for people who are vulnerable and who are facing homelessness face each cold winter morning. So join me and the Beyond Bank team on Friday the 7th of August at 7:30am, at Victoria Park

If you are unable to participate in the walk, I strongly recommend you look into the other support and volunteering opportunities offered by the Hutt Street Centre. The Centre does not receive any government funding for food, so why not become an “Angel for a Day”, where your donation provides much needed assistance in providing breakfast and lunch meals for the Centre’s clients.

More information on the walk and the vital work the Hutt Street Centre provide to South Australians, can be found at www.huttstcentre.org.au

No person who is homeless should feel like they’re walking alone.
