Port Lincoln Community Groups Rewarded

Five community organisations working in partnership with their local bank branch received a financial boost on Monday 21 September thanks to Beyond Bank’s Community Reward Program.

Groups who received a 2014-15 annual bonus payment included Dragons Abreast, Yarredi Services Inc, Port Lincoln Golf Club, Mallee Park Football Club and the Eyre Peninsula Community Foundation.

“Each of these organisations does an amazing job, only made possible because of the selflessness of their employees and volunteers,” said Beyond Bank’s, Branch Manager at Port Lincoln, Angela Hersey.

“The Community Reward Program payments reflect the strong level of local support those doing good work in our region enjoy.”

Through the fundraising program, Beyond Bank Australia is donating over $309,000 to not-for-profit organisations for financial year 2014-15.

Since the Community Reward Program’s inception in 2002, Beyond Bank has distributed more than $2 million to sporting, educational, health and community groups.

“Under this Program, people simply open a savings account and nominate a charity or community organisation they want to support. Then on their behalf, and at no cost to them, each year Beyond Bank donates a percentage of the annual average balance from its revenue to their group of choice,” said Ms Hersey.

“This is a new program to our Port Lincoln region and we would love to see more funds going to our local charities, sporting and educational groups in the future. I would encourage anyone who wants to support a local organisation to come and talk to us about our Community Reward Program.”
