Beyond Bank  recently held at Quiz Night held at West Augusta Football Club, Port Augusta on 19th August. It was hosted by SILPAG(Suicide Intervention & Life Promotion Action Group), Black Dog, Lions and Beyond Bank to raise funds for SILPAG and Black Dog.
Black Dog is a non for profit organisation which raises awareness of depression and suicide prevention. SILPAG is a local not for profit organisation that specialise in raising awareness of depression and suicide prevention and intervention, much the same Black Dog.
It was a great night with local Russell Keneally as MC for the 150 in attendance. All prizes on the night were donated by local businesses including many vouchers, jewellery, beverages and sweets.
The Quiz Night helped us raise $569 for SILPAG and the Lions Club of Port Augusta also donated a $500 Cheque to Black Dog on the night.
A group of Black Dog riders won the overall quiz event and they donated their prize to SILPAG to auction, raising an additional $100.
We would like to say a big thank you to all the local businesses and community members who donated goods or their time on the night, as well as the Port Augusta branch staff who volunteered their time to assist on the night.
The 2015 Black Dog Ride to the Red Centre has now concluded. 500 Black Dog Riders from all states and territories hit the highways of Australia to raise awareness of depression and suicide prevention. In the process, they raised over $300,000 for mental health services nationwide.
