History and Experience come together at our branch in Kurri Kurri

We have a long association with the Kurri community; our branch located in Mitchell Avenue has been in Kurri for more than 30 years. Our presence in Kurri has been strengthened recently with the appointment of Branch Manager Paula Pepper, who has more than 20 years experience helping our customers reach their financial goals.

Paula started at Beyond Bank [1] in 1993, back when we were known as Northern Mineworkers Credit Union, and has worked in our branches around the Hunter. Over the last 10 years Paula was the manager at our East Maitland Branch.

Her move to the Kurri Branch isn’t the first time she has led the team at this location, Paula filled in for a colleague who was on maternity leave.

“One of the most enjoyable parts of my job is meeting and helping our customers. I feel our customers are very important and should be able to talk to me when they need assistance. My own personal preference is supported by the Beyond Bank’s open door policy, which says customers can walk into a branch and have an expectation of being able to see a branch manager or apply for a loan without having to make an appointment,” said Paula.

“The other thing I really enjoy is the relationships. We keep the conversations, advice and support going well after the paper work is signed. I pride myself in the friendships I have with my customers, and I am looking forward to making new friendships with our customers in Kurri.”

“The thing about Beyond Bank [1] is that we aren’t just a bank, we are customer-owned, which means our profits are invested back into our customers and in the form of improved services, competitive fees and rates, and through our community support. We are part of the local community.”

“I am proud of the activity and support we do in the community, in fact we partner with more than 260 not-for-profit organisations across Australia, and you can always find our staff volunteering at community events, its part of our DNA.”
