Australia Day in Wagga Wagga 2016

If you are in Wagga Wagga this Australia Day you can enjoy some great activities and help honour the achievements of outstanding locals who have made significant contributions to our community.

On Monday, 25 January 2016, the Beyond Bank Australia Day Awards will get underway at 7pm in the Civic Theatre.

Featuring an address and performance by Australia Day Ambassador Jarryd Byrne, the event will recognise the Wagga Waggafest People’s Choice Award and the 2016 Australia Day Award nominees and winners. Come down and also hear the National Anthem Competition Finalists.

Then make the most out of your day off on Tuesday by spending some time at the redeveloped Wagga Beach precinct on the picturesque banks of the Murrumbidgee River.

Things kick off with breakfast at 7am and the day includes amusements, markets and the Australia Day Citizenship Ceremony. Make sure to visit the Beyond Bank Entertainment Tent to get some dance lessons from Jarryd Byrne, hear music from local entertainers and enjoy multicultural dance performances.

Remember to be sun smart and that all events are alcohol and glass free.
