Ben and Jerry’s Openair Cinema – Canberra, ACT

The Ben and Jerry’s Openair Cinema kicked off in Canberra last week, giving patrons a chance to lie out under the stars on a warm summer evening while watching some of the latest and greatest movies or enjoying an old favourite.

Beyond Bank is helping to bring the Openair Cinema to the ACT and as a result our customers are able to access some great savings.

If you are a member of Beyond Bank you will get $3 off the ticket price when you purchase online using the promo code ‘beyondbank’. Plus the first 75 people who present their Beyond Bank card at each session will get free blanket hire.

The Openair Cinema is located at Patrick White Lawns near the National Library and will run from 14 January until 21 February.

A range of films will be shown over the weeks, offering something for everyone. There are children’s films, sing-a-long movies, blockbusters and classics. Movies include Back to the Future, Star Wars Episode VII – The Force Awakens, and Joy.

While this is an all-weather outdoor event and will normally go ahead in most weather conditions, we did see a postponement from Thursday to Friday evening last week. So it’s wise to provide a mobile number when you book, so you will receive a text if the movie night is cancelled for any reason. And if a session is cancelled, you can transfer your tickets for another night.

Look out for our staff who will be volunteering at the cinema on Wednesday 20 January, Wednesday 3 February and Tuesday 16 February, they can help you with any questions you might have and would love to see you there.

Visit the Openair Cinema website to see what movies are showing and buy tickets.
