Easter Appeal raises $1.4 million for sick children

More than $1.4 million has been raised for the TeamKids Beyond Bank Easter Appeal [1], thanks to the generosity of South Australians far and wide who threw their support behind the Women’s & Children’s Hospital Foundation initiative.

The Appeal on Good Friday brought together some of the biggest names in entertainment for Channel 9’s live broadcast. Various community events were also held throughout the year, all in an effort to raise money for sick children at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital.

Women’s & Children’s Hospital Foundation CEO Sam Tolley thanked the community for their overwhelming support and generous donations.

“The TeamKids Beyond Bank Easter Appeal has proven to be an important community initiative, supporting a very valuable cause, which is clearly close to the heart of so many South Australians,” Mr Tolley said.

“The funds raised from the Appeal will help purchase vital equipment, research and services needed at the hospital, and will enable us to continue to work with the Women’s and Children’s Hospital to the care of over a quarter of a million children, babies and women who are treated there each year.

“Thank you to everyone who got involved, be it through volunteering their time, providing entertainment, coordinating a fundraising event or by donating, it’s been a truly tremendous effort by the community.

“Our event partners also played a very important role in making the TeamKids Beyond Bank Easter Appeal possible. Thanks to Beyond Bank Australia [2], Telstra, Channel 9 Adelaide, The Advertiser and Sunday Mail, Rossdale Homes, Lanser Communities, Finlaysons, National Pharmacies, City Mazda and Dressed for Sale for their commitment and tireless support,” he said.

The Easter Appeal will return again next year as the Foundation continues its effort to raise $40 million over the next 10 years for the Women’s and Children’s Hospital.
