2016 TEDxAdelaide: Metamorphosis

TEDxAdelaide 2016: Metamorphosis will be held on Thursday 20 October 2016 at the Adelaide Town Hall.

TEDxAdelaide 2016: Metamorphosis is set to be the biggest and most diverse TEDx event in Adelaide to date. With a focus on deep transformation, our aim is to deliver a truly unique event experience that brings together leading thinkers and doers to share ideas inspired by the theme Metamorphosis across a wide range of areas including technology, entertainment, design, science, humanities, business and development.

Our theme is inspired by Franz Kafka’s famous novella, The Metamorphosis, published a century ago during World War II; the ‘kafkaesque’ war to end war and one of the defining periods of modern society.

This year’s program will celebrate the challenge of change and its unique connections to our city state. We will hear creative interpretations of the theme that cover the deeply personal, to the transformation of sexual, mental or emotional identity, as well as physical shapeshifting or discoveries that have redefined our being.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organised events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TED Talks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection. These local, self-organised events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
