The team at our Gawler Branch have been working closely with Goodstart Early Learning Centre in Gawler to provide a financial literacy program to the pre-school children.
Due to the partnership, Glynn & Anna were invited to set up a stall representing Beyond Bank and get involved in the excitement of the wonderful changes to the centre, in particular, the outdoor playground.
They were overwhelmed by the interest from parents wanting to come on board and open a “Community Reward Account ” which parents felt was a great way for their child to learn about banking through the financial literacy program (of course most of the kids just wanted their “purple piggy bank”). The families were really pleased to learn that they were also supporting the centre when opening the account via Beyond Bank’s Community Reward Program.
The open day had Anna & Glynn flat out chasing balls while families had a go at the Beyond Bank handball game…. there was also plenty of giveaways for those who participated as well as purple balloons to enjoy!
One of many on the day who took up the opportunity to open a bank account was Tracey Reed. She is involved with the Scouts and also is a single foster parent to 3 children. Tracey thought it was impossible to open a bank account for her youngest child, Jemma, after speaking with her current financial institution. However, we were able to open Jemma an informal trust which she was absolutely thrilled about as she now has a bank account and a Beyond Bank piggy bank as well.
