Harry from House rules visits local bank to deliver morning tea!

The team at Beyond Bank Port Augusta were thrilled last week when James ‘Harry’ Harris from Channel 7’s House Rules made a surprise visit to drop in morning tea and say thank you!

Harry was a recent participant in CanTeen Australia’s Road Raise event, an annual bike ride from Adelaide to Melbourne that aims to raise funding an awareness for young people who have had their world turned upside down by cancer. This year’s event raised an incredible $250,000 and the team at Beyond Bank’s Port Augusta branch played a strong role raising nearly $3,000 for the cause.

“CanTeen is a fantastic organisation that helps young people explore and deal with their feelings about cancer and connect with other young people in the same boat” said Viki Bratt, local Senior Relationship Manager at Beyond Bank.

“This is one of many charity and community initiatives that our local branch supports and we are proud to be involved”.

Harry was so impressed with the fundraising efforts of the team that he decided to jump in the car and drive up from Adelaide to say thank you.

“I am really inspired by the efforts of the Beyond Bank team here at Port Augusta and wanted to let them know that they are making a real difference in the lives of young people living with cancer in their lives” said Harry. “They are a great team and it is really easy to see how much care they have for the community. Driving up and delivering morning tea is the least I can do!’

Shane Farley, co-founder of the Road Raise concept and the National Community Development Manager at Beyond Bank, was also in attendance and was full of praise for the team at Port Augusta. “They really do care strongly for the community and Viki and the team should feel very proud of everything they contribute to local community activities”.
