Budget Bootcamp.
Week 3.

Activity 5: Ensure you're insured.

Woah we’re halfway there
Woah hopefully not living on a prayer….

Let’s all hope that there aren’t too many more years like 2020 ahead.

But in case there are, it’s a good idea to make sure you’ve got the insurance you need.

Insurance gives you a bit of a safety net if the world decides to go all Armageddon on you.

When taking out insurance, you should consider a number of options, including:

  • home and contents

  • vehicle

  • health

  • income protection

  • travel (if 2020 has taught us anything, make sure you read the fine print).

As a rule of thumb, the higher the excess, the lower the premium – choose a balance that’s right for you.

Check annually to ensure your premiums are as low as possible, whilst still giving you maximum cover.

If you’re considering income protection, it can be a bit tricky. So, it’s worth checking out the guide from Moneysmart or speaking to one of our financial planners  – it's free.
