Howdy budgeteers, you’re still going. Kudos.
When you tackle a crappy job, it’s important to reward yourself with something nice. Some yummy takeaway, a pedicure, a family block of chocolate... You know the drill. Get creative.
Now, let’s dive in.
One of the toughest things about budgeting is keeping track of your spending.
Spending generally falls into two camps:
- Regular (fixed expenses)
- One-off (variable expenses).
A useful tip is to deliberately overestimate the money you need for bills. That way, you might find you have a little bit left in the kitty.
Take a moment and go through each line of your budget template. What’s fixed and what’s variable? What’s a must-have or a nice to have?
Now, check your bills and work out what you’re really paying for. Pay particular attention to insurance and phone plans. They’re slippery little suckers.
