Our Foundation is supporting the Get Started program with a grant to help young people with disabilities transition from school to work.
Since launching in 2011 the program has assisted more than 300 students to successfully transition into the post-school vocational option of their choosing which includes education and training, work experience and employment opportunities.
Beyond Bank’s grant will help provide additional resourcing to enable Mai-Wel to deliver the program through to 2020.
Get Started Program helps to build capacity in young people by:
- Structured workplace learning – work experience
- Assessment to identify suitability and potential vocational opportunities
- Prepares students to transition to further education or employment
