How do I use Bank@Post?

Available at over 3,000 Australia Post outlets across Australia, Bank@Post allows you to make deposits and withdrawals using the PIN on your Visa Debit card or rediCARD. We can link your membership so that you can withdraw and deposit cash over the counter at any registered Australia Post outlet.

 

  • The Savings button gives you access to your first savings account;
  • The Cheque button gives you access to your second savings account;
  • The Credit button gives you access to your first loan account.

Operating hours vary slightly between Bank@Post outlets, but all outlets are open as a minimum from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays).

Bank@Post is not available for monEsaver Internet Savings Accounts, or if the account requires two people to sign to operate.

In addition, if you have a Visa Debit Card attached to your account, you can use it to access funds overseas in selected ATMs.

ATMs are a simple way to access your money, check your balances and make withdrawals. All you need to do is follow the instructions on the screen of the ATM you’re using.

  1. Insert or swipe your Visa Debit card or rediCARD.
  2. Enter your PIN on the keypad.
  3. Follow the instructions displayed on the terminal screen.

If you’re unsure of how much money you have available, balance enquiries are available prior to cash withdrawals at any ATM.

When you use a non-rediATM and request a receipt, your balance will be printed on the receipt after your transaction is complete.
You can also:

  1. Insert or swipe your Visa Debit card or rediCARD.
  2. Enter your PIN on the keypad.
  3. Follow the instructions displayed on the terminal screen.

Which ATMs can I use?

If you have a Visa Debit card or rediCARD, you can use any ATM within Australia or overseas that displays the Visa/PLUS logo.

Though you can use any ATM to access your funds, the cheapest option is a rediATM, as these transactions are included in your monthly fee allowance. With more than 3,500 rediATMs across Australia, it’s easy to cheaply access your money. The rediATM network also includes NAB ATM’s which can be used within your monthly fee allowance.

To identify a rediATM, simply look for their red surrounds or distinctive rediATM brand.

How do I use my Visa Card in a shop?

With your Visa Debit card you can make purchases at any merchant worldwide that displays the Visa logo.

To make a Visa Debit purchase you simply need to:

  1. Swipe your card in the Visa terminal.
  2. Select the CREDIT option on the keypad.
  3. Enter your PIN and press OK; or
  4. Press OK and sign the receipt.

When the transaction is complete, you’ll get a copy of the receipt for your records.

Visa payWave is a quick, and convenient contactless method of payment. Featuring a distinctive contactless symbol, your Visa payWave card has a tiny antenna embedded into the chip which securely transmits purchase information.

To make a Visa purchase using payWave you simply need to:

  1. Check the purchase amount displayed on the Visa payWave terminal.
  2. Hold your Visa Debit payWave card approximately four centimetres in front of the terminal.
  3. Wait until all four lights on the terminal are illuminated to ensure that the transaction is complete.

How do I use my rediCard or Visa Card for eftpos purchases?

If you have a Visa Debit card or rediCARD and a PIN, you can pay for goods and services and withdraw cash from any retail outlet within Australia which displays the eftpos logo.
When you use eftpos in conjunction with your PIN, your money will be withdrawn directly from your account as soon as you make a purchase from an eftpos retailer.

To make an eftpos purchase, just follow these steps:

 

  1. Swipe/insert your card in the eftpos terminal.
  2. Select the SAVINGS or CHEQUE option on the keypad.
  3. Key in your PIN.
  4. Press OK.

With eftpos you can withdraw cash from your account at some outlets when you make a purchase. The amount of cash you wish to withdraw is added to the total of your purchase. It’s worth noting that some retailers set a limit on the amount of cash you can withdraw.

To withdraw cash with your Visa Debit card or rediCARD when making a purchase:

  1. Tell the sales assistant you want ‘cash out’ with the purchase and the amount you need.
  2. Swipe/insert your card in the eftpos terminal.
  3. Select the SAVINGS or CHEQUE option on the keypad.
  4. Key in your PIN.
  5. Press OK.
  6. The sales assistant will hand you the cash withdrawn from your account.
