For people in the Hunter region facing breast cancer, getting to treatment isn’t always simple. Many patients must travel long distances, often while managing fatigue, pain and financial pressure. Something as basic as transport can become a major barrier to accessing care.
That’s where our members, together with the Hunter Breast Cancer Foundation, are making a difference. Through our 2026 Double Donation campaign, donations from the community were matched by the Beyond Bank Foundation up to $10,000, helping raise more than $20,000.
These funds will support around 134 return trips for medical appointments, helping up to 70 local patients access the treatment they need without the added stress of travel costs or logistics.
The impact goes beyond the journey. Reliable transport means patients can attend treatment consistently, focus their energy on recovery, and reduce the strain on themselves and their families.
Over time, this contributes to better health outcomes and a more equitable healthcare experience for Hunter locals, where access to life‑saving treatment isn’t determined by distance or circumstance.
