  • An alternative method to electronic transfer is writing a Draft
  • A Draft is like a bank cheque made out in a foreign currency. It’s another way for you to make payments and settle a transaction overseas, especially if you don’t have the receiver’s electronic bank account details
  • Drafts can be sent overseas via mail and are available in a wide range of currencies3
  • Details required include the beneficiary's full name and address, any special instructions for the transfer, and the currency and amount.

2 This time frame may vary depending on the currency, value, and country of origin of the cheque to be converted. Generally, foreign cheques under $10,000 AUD equivalent take around 30 days to clear and credited to the customer’s account, and foreign cheques over $10,000 AUD may take up to 6-8 weeks before the funds are cleared and made available to the customer. There may also be other cases where it can take up to 8 weeks for a foreign cheque to clear, contact us on 13 25 85 for more information.
