Our Foundation support

We are for and with our customers and communities.

In 2007, we established the Beyond Bank Australia Foundation. The Foundation helps us give back to the community and focus on some of society’s most significant challenges. Since that time, the Foundation and Community Development program have contributed more than $29 million to programs and community groups across various causes.

In the past 12 months, we’ve partnered with 54 community organisations across the four focus areas of affordable housing, aged support, financial well-being and disability support, contributing over $400,000 to help provide services and programs that deliver these services.

Affordable housing is one of the foundation's key focus areas and is a concern for many Australians.   When people are excluded from homeownership, they miss out on many benefits, including a sense of belonging, prosperity, and financial wellbeing. Through this focus, we aim to help provide lower-income families with opportunities to stay connected to their communities facilitate pathways to homeownership, rental assistance, and social inclusion programs.

During the global pandemic, we supported financially impacted customers. We also saw a need to support the Australian charities struggling to adapt to new ways of delivering their services. Many community partners were forced to stop programs, cancel key fundraising events, and volunteers almost dried up overnight.

Yet more and more people were seeking their services and needed assistance. In direct response, the Foundation launched a Double Donation fundraising campaign. The dollar matching event’s goal was to inject much-needed funds into the not-for-profit sector. In the two years it has been running, we have supported 46 charities and injected more than $550,000 back into the community initiatives.

We are for and with the community. That’s what it means for us to be a B Corp. We believe we are stronger when we are together, sharing our success, opportunities and challenges. As a customer-owned bank, we are committed to changing lives through building stronger relationships and more connected communities.
