Help Autism Spectrum Australia go beyond.

Autism Spectrum Australia (ASPECT).

An estimated 1 in 70 Australians are on the autism spectrum.

ASPECT supports people on the spectrum and their families by providing information, education and a variety

of services aimed at meeting the specific needs of each individual.

Approximately 353,880 people are on the autism spectrum in Australia.

Autism is a lifelong developmental condition characterised by difficulties in:

  • Social interaction
  • Communication
  • Restricted and repetitive interests and behaviours and sensory sensitivities
  • Autism is four times more common in boys than girls.

The word spectrum reflects the wide range of challenges that people on the spectrum experience and the extent to which they may be affected.

ASPECT supports inclusion for everyone.  Together, we can work towards an ‘autism friendly’ Australia.
