Glendale branch celebrates International Day of People with a Disability

Glendale branch staff were visited by students from Aspect Hunter School last week as part of the celebrations for International Day of People with a Disability.

The branch was recently re-opened following a re-design conducted in partnership with leading national disability service providers, focusing on lighting, acoustics, surfaces and signage.

Teenagers Yasmin Hassen and Callum Unsted, both with autism, were excited to visit the branch and said they found the new layout welcoming.

Our staff enjoyed getting to know them and were pleased that they could see how the new branch design could help with their future banking needs.

Also on site was wheelchair user and Lake MacQuarie City Councillor, Dave Belcher.

Dave has spent many years advocating for more inclusive businesses in our communities, so it was great to have him visit the Glendale branch.

We think that the new inclusive design will make the day-to-day bank experience less intimidating and more inviting for everyone.

The visitors did a wonderful job with the media on site, including taking part in photography and videography.

We thank them very much for their help and look forward to seeing them again in the future.

Contact your local branch if you would like to know more about accessibility arrangements in place.
